Free-to-play co-op looter shooter. Space ninjas, crazy movement, a thousand hours of loot — and the HAKOO squad to run it with.
The tutorial offers Excalibur, Mag or Volt. Excalibur is the safest all-rounder for a first playthrough; Volt is great if you like speed. Don't stress the choice — you can earn all of them later.
The main quest line (Vor's Prize → The Second Dream and beyond) teaches the systems and unlocks the big features. When in doubt about what to do next: open the codex and continue the next quest.
Your power comes from mods, not from weapon or frame level. Rank up core mods (Serration, Vitality, Redirection, Pressure Point) early — they carry you through the whole star chart.
Platinum (the premium currency) is best spent on warframe and weapon slots, not on gear. Almost everything can be earned in-game, and you can trade prime parts with other players for platinum.
Warframe is much better in a squad. Jump into the HAKOO Discord, ask for a taxi to a node you haven't unlocked, and get access to the clan dojo for research weapons and trading.
Mods are cards you slot into frames and weapons. Every item has mod capacity equal to its level (max 30), and every mod costs capacity.
Weapons deal physical damage (Impact, Puncture, Slash) and can be modded with elements. Combining two basic elements on a weapon merges them into a stronger combined element:
The solar system is a chain of planets connected by Junctions — mini boss gates with task lists. Clearing junctions unlocks quests, game modes and crafting resources.
The best first frame: tanky enough, great crowd control with Radial Blind, and Exalted Blade melts everything on the early star chart. Hard to build wrong.
The classic first farmed frame. Iron Skin makes you nearly unkillable while you learn the game, and Roar buffs the whole squad's damage. Carries you to late game.
A shotgun that deletes bosses and heavy units well past the star chart. Cheap to build, and the clan-research Vaykor Hek is a straight upgrade later.
A reliable automatic rifle with strong Puncture damage for armored Grineer. Easy to craft early and a smooth ride until you find your favourite prime weapons.
A hand cannon that hits like a sniper. Perfect boss-killer sidearm while your primary handles the crowds — and Lex Prime stays relevant for hundreds of hours.
